100% humidity, friends. This is Arkansas.
I DID NOT WANT TO GET OUT OF BED THIS MORNING. But, I made myself. I'm glad I did. I forgot how many minutes I was supposed to run this morning. I did a 5w/4r/5w. I was only supposed to run for 3. Oh well, I'm a step ahead! I also got an app that will work well for the Couch to 5k that I'm following. The app is called Run Keeper Free. It tracks my activity via GPS. There are several great apps for Couch to 5k, but the plan I'm following is a bit different than those, so the Run Keeper app is great for me. If you're just now joining me, here is the plan I'm doing.
The run was good. I tried listening to David Crowder Band "Church Music" but the beatz weren't quite right for running. It was still good stuff to listen to! I did fine, but I got a little distracted at the end because I saw that a cat was killed on the road. Looks like it was hit by a car. I want to clean it up because my kids were playing with it the other day. They really wanted us to get a cat. It's sad. I really don't want them to see the dead cat.
In other news, I found a race to run!!! I am going to sign up to run in the "Women Can Run 5k" in Conway on May 8th. Who is with me? Jenny? Anna? Megan? Anyone else? It would be so fun to run with you guys! Let me know what you think. My friend, Amanda, sent me a website full of Arkansas races. I'm glad to know there are multiple races I could be a part of. This is a great goal to have--another reason to keep pushing on.
Tomorrow is a rest day. But, on Wednesday (it's supposed to be raining all week. boo.), I think I'm going to listen to The Prodigy--never slow. Great beatz.
Go Manda, Go!! I'm glad you found some fun races. My friend, Rachel, is staying with us for awhile and we are getting motivated for this. She is waaaayyy more in shape than me and she has been a runner for a long time but still willing to do this with me to get herself out of a six month slump. Very exciting!

ReplyDeleteOh, and you have to check the package for a non-GMO lable or buy from companies that only sell non-GMO.
keep it up! you're doing great. how warm is it there? we're getting some bouts of sunshine, but still battling our way out of the 40s and occasionally getting a sunny day in the 50s. the humidity doesn't feel bad til it hits 70ish.
